Sunstone is a variety of oglioclase. Tiny inclusions of hematite give it the red orange color. Value is based on the color and schiller. Transparent is the most valuable.
Before 1800 it was rare. Found in Siberia in the 1800s.
Found in Oregon in late 1990s. Oregon sunstone has inclusions of copper.

Density:2.62 – 2.65
