Quartz Necklaces
Did you know that rock crystal is a variety of quartz that is older than glass crystal and was named to distinguish it as a gemstone. It was used for crystal balls to foretell the future.
This quartz jewelry is handmade beaded gemstone jewelry. The beads are genuine gemstones, including clear rock crystal, rose quartz, smoky quartz, rutilated quartz, tourmalated quartz, and various colors of opaque or translucent quartz. Many of the necklaces have matching quartz beaded earrings (priced separately).

Quartz is one of the most common minerals found in rocks. Rock crystal is the clear variety. Colored varieties are caused by tiny inclusions of trace elements, or vacancies of something that would normally be there. These varieties are known by their own names, including smoky quartz (sometimes called smoky topaz), rose quartz, citrine, amethyst, aventurine, tiger eye, lemon quartz, and the whole family of chalcedonies. Synthetic quartz is lab created in many colors that have been given descriptive names.
